Kurdish sources: the Federal Government sent 35 tanks to boost its presence in Kirkuk and the formation of Tigris operations command

Kurdish sources said that Iraqi Defense Ministry decided to send 35 tanks to the Iraqi Army Division 12 based South of Kirkuk during the next few days.

Newspaper {hid} Kurdish said informed sources that "these tanks are for strengthening the position of the Iraqi Government in Kirkuk and a step towards the formation of Tigris operations command which failed to convene the established twice due to the participation of security chiefs in the province".

The newspaper said the Iraqi Government reinforces its presence in Kirkuk since Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's visit to the city.
