I thought I found a way to buy shares on the ISX. Ive been in contact with someone in Iraq, but he was only giving me advice for when the ISX opens to foreign investors. Sorry for the confusion!

Cogito ergo sum
don't like investing with small business - but if you look further on the company research side you'll see a couple of things that might raise an eyebrow. This might be fine and might even be the way they are going to do business - but with under 5 people and less than $1mm in sales for a "brokerage" that would make me a little nervous.

Dear tory,
Thank you for your email.Unfortunately for this period of time the Iraqi law does not allow the foreign to own the Iraqi stocks. There are tow ways to trade in ISX under the present condition:
1- To make the stocks registered in the name of an Iraqi citizen authorized and trusted from your side.
2- To appoint my bureau to be your asset manager to run a part of your account in trading in the ISX under your directions.
I manage many private Iraqi accounts beside my account in the ISX. I manage accounts with the directions and consultancy of my partner Dr. Talib Al-Tabatabai. He is the head of the ISX council. He is a friend to my family, very trusted and well-known person.
My bureau is registered to Baghdad Chamber Of Commerce as commercial agents.
I will provide you with any information you may request to build a strong base of trust between us.
Waiting for your reply soon.
Thank you again and best regards.
Your obedient servant,
HAYDER MEKKI OBAIDA
comments, anyone?
Cogito ergo sum
toryangski, I also received that reply.
I think the next step should be to get him registered on this forum. Then we can chat with him, PM him, and get his explanations posted.
I'll tell him to post on this thread if he gets registered with us.

I emailed the ISX about Hydar and foreign investors. Foreign investors can not trade (yeah you all know already). Just thought I'd post their reply. Making a business or trusting someone to do it in their name are the only ways. NOTE :NEAR-TERM

Dear **Tyred**
The Iraq Stock Exchange and Iraq Securities Commission are looking forward to inviting foreign investors to invest in the ISX in the near-term. The ISX is formulating regulatory policy to facilitate such investments. Following ISC approval, foreign investors will be invited to participate in the ISX. The starting date for foreign investment will be posted here.
Thanks
did anyone else having problems registering other than this Hayder guy?
there's nothing difficult about registering i don't think
anyway i guess if we can get him registered and on here to chat- i have a few questions for him- like can we transfer from warka to him to begin trading right away?
but isn't warka doing this already? haven't got my confirmation my funds are in warka yet so haven't put in my stock request to warka yet
