I too have sent packages to Warak. I have enclosed everything in a brown envelope with a letter asking the dinar to be deposited in to my account. Include your signature and photo (DL).
When you get to Fed Ex or UPS just tell them that it is documents that you are sending valued at $1.00. I have never had anyone question the contents of my envelope.

    Default opened an account

I just opened an account today it took a total of 4 days to open from first email to getting account numbers.First two emails between me and mr I were promptly responded to and sent to my regular inbox email folder however the third email with my account numbers on it was caught in my spam email folder. My next step over to washington mutual to open an account and take advantage of my free wires. Thanks to so many people on this forum. :lmao:

i sent a certain amount in Dec. 07 and wrapped the notes in carbon paper to help disguise the contents regarding the metal strip. no problem sherlock..

I took the advice from those who came before me and wrote bank documents on it and i had my account funded in five working days. now i'm half cash and half in Warka savings and CD. gonna get more cash and wire a bit more in Feb.

    good luck with that!

hopefully this is on topic since the isx was mentioned....
Do you need to send a letter to the Iraqi embassy to participate in the ISX?
Where can I get more info on how to purchase stocks in the ISX? or listings and quotes on the companies?

    Thank you

Congrats teddysalad! I'm going to send mine, I think?!? I'm still hesitant to FEDEX hard cash, kinda skeptic about it. How was the accountabiltity with fedex/ups in getting yours there? ISX and CDs are very tempting......

I don't know. It's a risk but it was easy and they credited every last Dinar. Wiring definitely would be safer. I was too lazy to sell my Dinar on Ebay.

    Just curious,
these are old posts, and I heard they no longer accept dinar through this procedure. Can anyone tell me otherwise?

Congratulations! You broke both U.S. and Iraqi import/export laws and got away with it! Maybe...

Why didn't you just convert it to USD here in the states and wire the money? It's cheaper, there are no risks and there is no illegal activity required. Not to mention you would have had an electronic trail of proof that you sent the money to Warka.

Yeah, but he just sent over "documents". Why place a trail on that?

So that you have proof that they money was actually sent to Warka? If you wire transfer the money to Warka you'll have a record of the wire with your bank. I didn't need to be sarcastic but there is a very simple, safe and legal way to do this. I buy back at over the exchange rate so you could essentially do the deposit and literally end up with the same or more Dinar that you started with. Why ship it overseas in a clandestine way when there is a completely legitimate way to do it?

Mr. I's email stated that I could Fedex the Dinar to the bank. It would make sense to have record of the wire I suppose but would it really help you if they folded or you were unable to withdraw your funds for some reason?

Why does everyone here refer to Mr. I as Mr. I? Doesn't that alone cause a bit of concern?

I'm just pointing out one of the factors, the record of the wire transfer, that gives you a lot more security. What if 6 months from now Warka says you never sent the money? All you have is a record of the shipment in which you sent "documents."

Sure you might have to play cat and mouse games with a courier to ship it domestically as well. But violating a company policy is a hek of lot better than violating laws in two countries and risking the loss of your investment at multiple points during the process and after. And for what? There is a completely secure and legal way to do this. Not to mention, you can even ship it domestically and insure it with the US Post Office if you choose.

OK Good. You wire yours then.
