Keep your eye on the ball people - drop the parliamentary antics and watch the CBI and the ISX - nothing else matters.

And I ask you this - has even a candle been lit in the Fianancial Sector of Baghdad in the last two years?

It is the safest bet in town - sit tight and forget the politics it is all just a bunch of hot air not even fit for balloons.

Default They have been trying to pass the HCL and other laws, but

they cannot get everyone's vacation schedules aligned to do it...I do think there is one day in June (22) that all of their schedules are in sync...no wait, nevermind...I forgot...it's "Be home and wait for your new 2007-2008 Phone Books to arrive" day...they're off that day for a three day weekend

You could not be more correct on this post OS. A stable economy is the key to Strong Security!!! Think about it, there's a lot of Iraqi's living in "mud-huts" that have about 10 or more mouths to feed. Unemployment is out of this world. The common Iraqi has no money at all, so when an Insurgent pulls out a US hundred dollar bill and say, "all you need to do is dig a hole along side the road for this hundred dollar bill" - They have no choice but to agree. The next Iraqi gets offered the same deal but it to place explosives in the hole that's all ready dug. Then someone else gets paid to set up the detonation device. People that's an IED if you're still lost in this post. ONCE THE IRAQI PEOPLE HAVE SOME FORM OF INCOME, THE INSURGENCY WILL BE DEFEATED! Once security and stability enters Iraq, then it's MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Iraq is an Unpolished Diamond. They still haven't even tapped any of their secondary natural resources - just OIL. Hell, they have more to offer the world in trade then any other country in this century. For this reason we are hearing alot about IRAN lately. IRAN right now is scared out of there pants that IRAQ might actually get their act together. Think about it, IRAQ will be a successful democracy, IRAN and the rest of the middle east don't want this to happen. Once democracy and capitalism takes off in Iraq it spreads like a wild fire. The past 2-3 weeks it has seemed to me that alot of "things" in the puzzle are coming together. I think Iraq needs to do the "reval" that we all hope for in order to have a fixed/stable currency. That would open the doors for Foreign Investments (at correct rates fair to Iraq) and while us "small-players" in the game walk out with some possible good returns, the "big-players" will be dumping their $$$ into IRAQ. One of these days you might be able to visit Iraq on vacation (they have some breath-taking places that are amazing). Until then, all we can do is wait. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

I agree seybold. But I think there is more than meets the eye here. These Iraqis know better than us the need for economic stability in Iraq. I don't agree with a dismissing them as being lazy bums. I still wonder about the influence of Iraq (that you started to elude to) with the members of parliament. I still feel that these are stalling tactics and not just "vacation" like everybody is talking about. The only question is; what are the stalling tactics meant to acomplish and who will be effected? I believe this is what needs to be discussed, and welcome some inteligent discussion. Carlos
