    Default Question

I have just emailed all the info to open my Warka account. Will I need the notarized info with my passport in order to buy stocks on the ISX if it is after Aug 2? Also my passport expires on the 31 of this month and I am just about to send it in to get a new one. Can I use it or do I need to wait till the new one arrives? Is it ok to put the stock list in with your fedex package to fund your account?

    Thanks

How much can I resize my passport and ID copy? I need to do that because one A4 size paper is too small for both real size copys and I don`t want to pay for notarizing and verifying 2 papers.

Default Has anything changed in this process?

Many of the links in this thread are outdated. Is this still the right process? TIA.

Hi sportsfile, first of all, congrats on having a good name, that means you are a warka customer . In response to your question, yes, you do need to send the originals. Send them ASAP. There is technically a deadline (I believe 90 days from notarization) but if you send them, they will still accept them.

Once again, congrats on having a good name to put your stocks into .

When you say 'original document' do you mean the AACC certified legal sized piece of paper with a copy of your passport and driver's license, etc just like the instructions say on the 'ISX Requirements' page? Are those instructions still up to date? Thanks for any help.

Has anyone figured out how the transition will work when they move our stocks from our proxy that our name is on, over to just our name only..and/or when that will transpire, and/or what all might be involved...as we have all heard some different stories?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. Honestly, I cannot answer if the instructions are up to date as it has been a few years since I got in. I have not heard of the requirements changing.

    Profitman,

The transition is already happening. I have gotten several of my stocks switched over already. You don't need to do anything, Warka does it all for you. Warka will email you and tell you that the shares are being changed to your good name and they are deducting thier commission and tell you the amount. They email you again with a copy of the Stock Cert in your good name once the transition is complete.

Is this when we actually get a certificate...or shareholders documentation, versus an excel spreadsheet like now?

I am finally going to go through this transfer process. Has anyone done this recently and knows the cost for individuals and if there are any changes made since the beginning of thread? I don't want to make any mistakes that will cost me.

I lost about 10% of my shares transferring from the Warka proxy to Al-Karmal. It was easy to verify what Al-Karmal received when I requested a transfer of all of my shares. now with Al-karmal, I have a certificate number for every share I own, so in the future, I can track down exactly what is mine. All I got from warka after repeated submission of the "excel sheets" they sent me was silence. After a while, I simply gave up. Lesson learned as far as I am concerned.

I still think the ISX people are going to take in the dumper. They have your money and they are thieves. That's all I need to say about that.

Very risky investment. I agree with that.

Thanks for the info Scott. I am asking about the process of transferring my stocks to my good name and the cost. So far I have been happy with Warka but they are not a "stock brokerage company". Maybe down the line if I am not satisfied with Warka I will move but now I am afraid to since you lost 10%. Money is tight now so all I want to do is get the paperwork in place to have my shares in my name.

Saad M. Bunia is one of the richest men in Iraq, and probably the entire middle east. Why would he risk his,and his family's reputation by "stiffing" investors in Warka Bank. The answer is simple-HE WILL NOT.Go to his web-site Al-Bunia.com,and you will be astonished at what this man's family owns.It will also show you what stocks he owns, and the quantities, in the ISX.This is GOOD ENOUGH for me.
