    Default CBI Question?

This may be a typographical error, however, I was curious as to everyones opinion on why the selling price on the dinar with US currency is 1470 to 1 when the auction price is 1480 to 1.

This is also a very good link to add to your favorites if you havn't already done so.

Good spot, but this is not unprecedented for there to be a difference in the top "selling" price vs. the bottom "selling" price. However, it could be a type -- notice that the day (Wednesday) is updated in the upper table, but the date (2005/4/5) is not, while the lower table does have that updated.

Now, more importantly, we've seen it creep from 1460 to 1470 and now 1480... wrong direction in a general sense, but I wonder aloud (and am soliciting opinions) on if this is actually a good sign?

The CBI is a sort of "middle" bank, and as such might actually be trying to influence other banks & possibly even street rates by countering with their transactions (e.g. the other banks are feeling upward pressure (such as 1440, 1430, 1400) and CBI is trying to counteract this by going the opposite direction). Does this sound correct?

I bet they are countering street rates. Keeping them in check. Any thoughts? Or is that kinda dumb?

Good thoughts Cnbmis. I hadn't really thought about that scenario much. Thanks for your opinions and the opinions of everyone else who has posted or just read and gathered some "food for thought".

Default Some historic info for review...

I came across this article while trying to do some research... it may have been posted eons ago...(I believe it was written in 2003---but there was no date) it seems to offer some pretty good historical info about the "New Dinar"... so I decided it might provide a good refresher read about the dinar plus... there seem to be alot of new folks joining the forum every week that could use this information to answer a number of questions.
