    Another disappointing day. Until they pass the HCL and/or go electronic the ISX is going nowhere.

    Iraq also wants a relationship between the foreign exchange market and the Iraqi dinar.

    Buying now might just turn out to be a smart move, alot of risk but could be well worth it! That HCL what a pain!

    Hi Crow,

    When you say risk. What do you mean by it? I really don't see it as high risk for a person losing all their money. If you were to diversify all your funds by purchasing all companies, I can't see how you can fail unless every single one of them tanks. But for something like that to happen, I would assume Iraq would have to get nuked. I mean this investment is risky in itself because they are still fighting, but I dont see it as high risk like gambling. I believe our odds are much higher as time passes. Please tell me if my line of thought might be a bit off or I'm a bit too optimistic about this. Lately I've been bashed by the people I bring this up too. It's quite understandable to why they would see this as a no-win investment if they have the lack of information. But heck maybe were fooling ourselves and don't even know it. It would be great if we had users that are against this investment to see their reasoning.

    Well the risk is not high in my mind, but who knows with all the carp going on there, the situation could change fast either way.I really feel the ISX is the way to go and the return over the years could be very great, but accounts and cash are a must to complete the position, going only with one could prove foolish.CROW

    Though not likely, a " in country thing" is possible, a account is a must.

    my point is that come post rv time-warka will transfer dinars to dollars. no shopping for a rate is necessary. no raping like all the major baks will do. warka will give a fair spread-not steal up tp 16% on a conversion.

    You can say that again...

    In a senate hearing, Nelson Rockefeller was questioned. "Mr. Rockefeller, how much money did you make last year? Oh, 650 million or thereabouts. How much tax did you pay on that? Oh, I don't pay any taxes. How is that possible Mr. Rockefeller? His answer? I don't own any of it." Access without Ownership & Equity without Liability, legally.

    Duh...I must be losing my mind again. I thought that 'North Bank' was the same as 'Kurdistan Bank' all of this time! Now, I have to go back through all of my stock spreadsheet things to make sure I have the right stocks in the right area. CP, help!! Or someone...please put the list up again for which bank is which. From the original list I have of private banks, some of those listed for trade now are not names listed on there, there's no KIB listed, for example, and there's no Iraqi Civilian Bank listed on this old list. Here's the old list:

    Central Bank of Iraq

    *State Owned Banks*
    Rafidain Bank
    Rasheed Bank

    Private Banks
    Al Baraka for Investment & Finance Banking;
    Al-Warka Investment Bank;
    Babylon Bank;
    Bank of Baghdad;
    Basrah Private Bank for Investment;
    Commercial Bank of Iraq;
    **(Credit Bank of Iraq - (Used to be Trade Bank of Iraq? - Administered By
    J.P. Morgan Chase & Co, also affiliated with National Bank of Kuwait, among
    others, according to info I have found - I could be wrong);
    Dar Es Salaam Investment Bank;
    Economic Bank;
    Gulf Commercial Bank;
    Industrial Union Bank;
    Investment Bank of Iraq;
    Iraqi Middle East Investment Bank;
    Islamic Bank;
    Mosul Bank;
    National Bank of Iraq;
    North Bank;
    Sumer Bank;
    United Investment Bank.

    I'm trying to complie a list of information on all banks that I can find, so far it's been difficult to track down. This info would include dates of paid up capital shares, etc... and I would be more than happy to share it when completed, if anyone would like, please pm me. However, I'm having a difficult time trying to seperate and figure out some of the names. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

    Its not that hard to believe, corruption, day in and out of fighting and suicide bombers - not going to send any money over there till security gets a lot better.

    That and the fact that I don't trust em. If I miss out, then poor me. But I wonder what the banks with dinar in North America are going to do...hmmmm.....lol (yes, screw the banks Iraqi)

    I don't think an inhouse exchange is a possibility imo.

    As I have said people, you have tons on time to get into the ISX - warka, the way things are going its going to be awhile before the HCL gets passed.

    But saying all of this, the ISX is likely the way to make a ton of dinar, if you are willing to take the ricks.
