I found this 2005 article about coke that indicated that they might have their own bottleing company up and running within 2 years.....Well! it's 2007! Has anyone heard anthing else about coke? Do they have there own plant? Are they still just doing the "joint venture" thing? Is there a "Coke" related stock on the ISX yet? If anyone has any new info on Coke in Iraq....Please Post!

On Friday, Coke launched the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Iraq, which will have exclusive production and distribution rights for Coke throughout the country. The new entity is a joint venture between Coke's Turkish bottler, Efes Invest, and an Iraqi company called HMBS.

Under its agreement with Coca-Cola, the venture will take immediate control of distribution and sales in Iraq and has the option to set up its own bottling operation within two years. Until then, it will continue to rely on supplies from outside the country.
