Default Beyond Top Secret - Iran

The history channel aired this show last night, and will air it again today

It's an interesting breakdown of the Iranian nuclear crisis and the fallout potential in the middle east.

What I found particularly interesting was Iran's contingency plan to send its revolutionary guards into Iraq to fight the US soldiers if Iran was bombed.

How will this affect the Dinar? Fall and winter are ideal times to strike at Iran, as it provides the longest amount of night hours. Will the GoI stand powerless?

    It's getting near midnight......

Iran's government will fall hard, and Iraq will stay unified and enter into a very prosperous season. It's been written...

Not at all. That currency [Rial] is going to plummet (more). THe US has and will continue to put damaging sanctions on Iran to cripple its economy. I would say that in the long term (10-15, 20 yrs down the line), the currency will strengthen, once the moderates of today take charge of Iran after the Ayatollahs are gone.

Yep, I'm in, the dinar should have enough time to appreciate substantially before it is wise to buy into Iran. Voyeur.

Is it even legal to invest in Iran??

    "Iran-China Trade Challenges

Last year’s volume of trade between Iran and China reached US $7 billion. This figure is expected to increase in a few years’ time by means of several giant economic projects and contracts signed by the two countries.
Iran and China have close ties but their economic relations are still limited. Bureaucracy in the Iranian economy is a huge setback for Chinese companies and investors, limiting the volume of investment schemes. Some US $3 billion worth of trade with China were in the fields of crude oil, oil products and natural gas. China considers Iran and its huge oil and natural gas reserves as an important and potential market, particularly at a time when American companies are not allowed to invest in Iran in view of economic sanctions."
