Reinstated, to reintroduce something: to bring something back into use or force again after it has been out of use. Its what they did in 2003 when they formed the new CBI and printed new denominations of dinar. Most Iraqi's were using Swiss dinar. 10 year old news

Thanks SE...
Now, if I have a question... a hypothetical one....
Supppose (again, hypothetically speaking) that the Iraqis do not print a new currency, that be because of all the logistics involved are too much or the cost to print new money is too much...
Where do you see the dinar heading? (besides as a toilet paper)....
I could see a gradual appreciation to or about 100 IQD to the dollar......then, may be we could see the printing of new money...
How much money can you forecast that is in the hands of speculators and how much money is physically in the hands of the CBI and/or in the banks?

. Their currency is not reconized in the international community. A RI will make it happen.
In 2009 or 2010 Nuri Al Malaki asked the Potus for a Ri. He was rejected for political reasons. That tells me this will be the most likley route they take.

Do you have a source for that info - the part on maliki asking about an RI?A reinstatement of the dinar is most likley the action the Goi will take. Their currency is not reconized in the international community. A RI will make it happen.
