Iraqi Trade Fair Opens In Turkey's Southeastern City

    Published: 5/22/2008

GAZIANTEP - Iraqi trade fair opened on Thursday in Gaziantep, Turkey`s southeastern city which hosts the international event for the third time. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said Turkey and Iraq aimed at increasing the annual trade volume between the two countries from 3 billion USD to 5 billion USD in 2008.
Iraqi Trade Minister Abd al-Falah al-Sudani, on his part, said that they expected the trade volume, which currently stood at 3 billion USD, to climb to 4-5 billion USD by the end of 2008.
We have recently begun making investments in the areas of industry and agriculture. We expect Turkey`s assistance and support in this process, he said.
Al-Sudani added that they considered the fair in Gaziantep a symbol of cooperation and friendly relations.
The fair is jointly organized by the Iraqi Trade Ministry and Chamber of Industry of Gaziantep (GSO) in association with the Turkish Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade, and the Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
Nearly 8,000 foreign guests are expected to attend the 3rd International Iraq Fair. This is the only fair which Iraqi government allows to be organized in a foreign country.

True, but if they don't have the capital or financial resources to implement or invest in the materials being presented its like trying to make S'mores without a campfire

True, but in the true nature of capitalism, those trying to start businesses don't want to loose the shirts off their backs either. Right now they can't afford to start a business. But if they had a revaled dinar, what a difference that would make...
