Default 0% LTCG tax rate starting '08

Hello Everyone! I am new to this site...and to investing. Have found a few posts about capital gains but nothing that mentioned this:

    http://taxes.about.com/od/capitalgai...GainsTax_4.htm

Is this accurate? I may actually need to know this one day

So am I correct that if the dinar revalues that we would just need to prove that we had the stock for at least a year before the RV date to make it a long-term investment? Also, if we cannot prove how long we'vce had the dinar, then the IRS will probably make it automatically a short-term investment and tax accordingly?

This lookin' good for me. Hope this dinar fits the "type of investment". That's my tax bracket! 0% in 08? C'mon you Shabs do the damn thing!!! This is the best news I've heard since I bought into this rollercoaster ride.

Unfortunately... the 10% and 15% marginal tax bracket is if you make between 0 and $31850. Most people on this board make well above that.

But what if... I cashed in enough to pay off my house and bills... then quit my job and claimed no income... then cashed the rest. Sounds good to me.

I like how you think frosty...your plan sounds interesting... but I thought it strange that a 2 yr window that protects some new found wealth for those in that tax bracket would come when dinar speculation is at it's finest. And I'm sure there are more than a few that scraped together a few hundred dollars and bought IQD's or invested in something for the first time and it ends up paying them well. Sure would be nice if those that qualify for the tax advantage will actually be able to hold on to their new riches if they hit big.

I have wondered about this topic for quite some time, funny to find it being brought up here. I posted this article on another forum a few months ago here it is, it confirms the other article posted as well.
