Iraq receives new Russian ‘Night Hunter’ fighter jets

On Sunday, the Ministry of Defense announced that, Iraq has received a new set of Russian ‘Night Hunter’ fighter jets, noting that another set is expected to arrive this weekend.
The ministry said in a statement, received by, “The leadership of the Army Aviation received a new set of the Russian jets, model MI-28 (known as Night Hunter) under the contract between the Ministry of Defense and its Russian counterpart.”
The statement added, “Another set is expected to arrive by the end of this week. The command of Army Aviation has previously received many of these aircrafts.”
The Ministry of Defense announced on October 29, 2014 that, Night Hunter fighter jets had participated in the fight against terrorism, in order to provide assistance to the Iraqi people in various circumstances and events.
