SAS monitoring infiltration from Iran
Reuters London: The two British special forces soldiers dramatically freed in an attack on an Iraqi police station this week were part of a team monitoring militant infiltration from Iran, the Sunday Times said. Citing an unnamed source, the newspaper said special forces troops had been based near the southern city of Basra for weeks tracking the suppliers of armour-piercing roadside bombs believed to have come over the nearby border with Iran. INDIA also voted for the vote. Iran itself is a member to the IAEA<--------they know the rules. AND it was EU that sent it to the UN Security Council...ohh yeah and it was sent last Friday ...so they have time to comply.. :D Last edited by Dinaress; 09-26-2005 at 08:09 AM |

These British friends were tracking the supply of armor piercing explosive devices known to be coming from Iran. If smuggling those devices into Iraq isn't state sponsored terrorism, what is?
For the present, it is necessary to seal the border from this activity. Iran knows what is expected by the governments of the world to maintain stability and join the rest of the civilized nations. Drop their nuke program, stop supporting terrorists, stop being a pain in the neck to the rest of the world. If we need to rattle their cage to encourage Iran's citizens to change their leadership, sealing the border from terrorism trade to Iraq is a good way to start.

and their new president's attempts to cause a confrontation with the U.S.: "The short answer is that more and more people are selling rials, the Iranian currency, and buying whatever foreign currency they can get their hands on, including the new Iraqi dinar. This, in turn, translates into a massive flight of capital from Iran."

I have been pondering this situation the last few days.
Why are we backing a predominatley Shiite, heavily influenced by Iran, Transitional Iraqi Government? Why are we allowing deals, and contracts between the Transitional Government and Iran in southern Iraq? And at the same, we and everyone else are sending Iran to the Security Council? |
