Default Job opportunities in Iraq?

Hi,
This may be my 'first' post... (not sure), but I have reading this forum for quite some time... and have purchased 4+ million dinar, hoping someday it will be worth something...

Anyhoo... enough blabbering and on to my question...

Can any of you recommend a good starting point for seeking possible employment in Iraq? Good companies & good Pay!!! :) I guess I am possibly looking for a 1 year contact.

I am a 19-year AF MSgt looking to retire next summer and then do a year contract in Iraq. (hopefully save some $$$ for a home) 3C0X1 career fieild, computer systems specialist with a TS/SCI clearance.

Thanks for a assistance!!! (kinda scary leaving the comforts/security of a military career, but it is time to move on)

No offense intended, but I think I would have to see the stripes on your shoulder first. 19 is way young to be a MSgt., even in the AF.

depends on what your skill set is. law enforcement? security? spec ops? all these i can help you with. send me private message if u have any of these. if not, try KBR or Haliburton websites...or just go on Monster.com and type in Iraq and check for your 3C0X1 skill set...Good luck

No offense taken... MSgt/E-7 in the Air Force is no big deal. Average sew-on time for E-7 is about 17 years. ( I think MSgt is an E-9 in the USN though... and maybe that's what you're thinking)

AFCAP.com (pays the best), or Bechtel, Parsons, PWC, Alot of jobs listed under Overseasjobs.com. Raytheon has good positions worldwide, not in Iraq however. Goodluck, Lance

Good word, Lance. Don't forget companies like Lockheed, ITT, CACI, TLC, L3 as well as considering GS positions. You may want to consider "quality of life" options as locations can and do suck. The good money sais to probe all GS positions first and move on from there.

Good Luck

Try also www.militaryhire.com. They hire former military. I'm sure Air Force would be welcomed just the same. Just remember from one who knows first hand, KBR is the biggest and most prominent in the region, but they do not always pay the HIGHEST salary and tend to have ultra micro-managing approaches that affect productivity, not to mention, exceptionally high turnover -- SORRY MRR !! :p ;)

E-8 Army = Master Sergeant (or 1st Sergeant)
E-9 Army = Sergeant Major

E-8 Navy = Senior Chief Petty Officer
E-9 Navy = Master Chief Petty Officer

I'm a MSgt in Security Forces, and it is a big deal. We worked hard to get it, be proud of it...Thanks...Cop

AirForceCop,
I am not belittling (?) the rank of MSgt... trust me... I know EXACTLY what it takes and I am proud of it...
My comment was in response to what I percieved as being called out for being a 19-year (not 'old') MSgt.
Thanks for the 'briefing' on the ranks of our sister services... I think....

John
