Default KBR Strikes again...

IAMB to review other Halliburton deals; KBR lops $9m off

UNITED NATIONS (RTRS): Halliburton Co subsidiary KBR has agreed to lop $9 million off sole-source contracts paid for by the US government with Iraqi oil money after auditors questioned $208 million in possible overcharges, an international watchdog agency said on Monday...

The board had noted “with regret” last year that Pentagon auditors tried to hide the apparent overcharges. The auditors had turned over heavily edited audits, saying the deletions were made to protect trade secrets

Seems this is also a linked possible overall outcome regarding funding from Congress...

Sustainability of Iraq reconstruction questioned; Shift in rebuilding funds

2nd Feb 2006

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Agencies): Ambitious US goals to fix Iraq’s infrastructure will never be reached, mainly because insurgents have chased away contractors and forced the diversion of repair funds into security, according to a US government audit released last week. The rise of Iraq’s virulent insurgency in 2003 and 2004 was never envisioned by US occupation officials, who budgeted about 9 per cent of US reconstruction aid for project security, according to an audit of the Iraqi Relief and Reconstruction Program.

According to reports, the US administration is not to planning to ask Congress for more aid for Iraq when it submits its 2007 budget next week.

They are STILL pushing thru hundreds of people down in Houston my forum friend. If you are single and like the rugged lifestyle now and then, you can go to KBRJOBS.COM and job fairs are listed by city. It is a chance of a lifetime and I for one am tired of being here but would make the same decision again, maybe with a different company. But as much as I complain about them guess what? They still mail a nice check every month. Good Hunting
