Background Checks

A recruiter found my resume online I've filled out all the paper work and apparently waiting on my backround check to come through. The only thing that would stop me I guess from going is my debt I've never been arrested, I guess my question is if I was able to get a passport, why is it taking so long for Lear to get back with me?
