Default Forgotten

This a great video. We all must realize that if not for this tragic event we probably would not be in this dinar adventure. With all the "hype" of the re-val, we must never forget the thousands that died on 9/11, nor the soldiers that are protecting us. Thank You to all our armed forces. God Bless You and Keep Safe.

Well said, Keonee. I'd also like to add there are contractors along with those military personnel that are away from loved ones, too. They have an important hand in all this, too.

I haven't forgotten. Won't. Can't.

Now, not to sound critical ... that's a great song. Love the lyrics, but it could have been more moving had they shown more pictures and less of the singer. When you SEE it and HEAR it ... it makes a bigger impact. Know what I mean? I'm thinking of so many pictures that's in my head that I'll never forget ... pictures that made a huge impact on me.

None the less ... a very good video. Thanks for sharing Sara! I appreciate what you bring to this forum.

Having been there do not forget the huge support network of the spouses, families and friends who send correspondence and care packages to let them know they are not forgotten. Without that emotional support it would be much worse than it truly is.

Default I Remember

Many people do not realise how important it is to know you have support from home. When I was in Iraq for Desert Storm, we did not have the means to communicate with our families like the guys have now. When we were able to call home, we would often have to drive for 2-3 hours across the desert and stand in line for another 2-3 hours to make a 10 minute phone call. I also remember one day while picking up supplies from a base camp they were burning what they said was something like 40 tons of mail! they said they had no room to store it and it got rained on so they were burning it. I do really like the song above, but how many of you remember "Voices That Care"?

Oh my ... I shouldn't complain so much about the stinky server issues, then.

The thought of mail being burned makes me sick because I know how precious sending/receiving them is.

Default This the one?

Voices That Care

Lonely fear lights up the sky
Can't help but wonder why
You're so far away

There, you had to take a stand
In someone else's land
Life can be so strange

I wish we never had to choose
To either win or lose
That we could find a way (We could find a way)

But I won't turn my back again(turn my back again)
Your honor I'll defend
So hurry home, and 'til then (til then)

Stand tall, stand proud!
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright (hurry home. ooh)

I'm not here to justify the cause
Or to count up all the loss
That's all been done before

I just can't let you feel alone
When there's so much love at home
We're sending out to you

All the courage that you've known
The bravery you've shown
Clearly lights the way

We pray to make the future bright
To make the wrong things right

Right or wrong, we're all praying you remain strong
That's why we're all here and singing along

Stand tall, stand proud!
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Know in your heart how our love burns bright

Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright

You are the voice
You are the light

Stand tall, stand proud!
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright

Stand tall, stand proud!
Voices that care are crying out loud
And when you close your eyes tonight
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright

You are the voice and the guiding light
Feel in your heart how our love burns bright

I think a large chunk of America (50%+) has forgotten.

Default That's the one!

My wife sent me a copy of it while I was overe there and I shared it with my platoon. It sure made them feel better.
On the other hand, talking about 9/11, the only thing about that that suprised most of the combat vets I know was that it took so long for it to happen. Sad but true.
